Different tracks for Hurricane Ivan were run as part of a storm surge forecasting effort in conjunction with the Louisiana State University in September 2004. Three views, at different zoom levels, of the track Ivan eventually took are shown below. Right-click on an image and select 'play' to see the simulation.

The arrows indicate wind vectors, the colors indicate water levels with shades of blue showing a lowering of water surface elevation, and shades of red showing a rise.
